SURVIVORS of the Grenfell Tower fire are being given a paltry £10 to live on by the council, a volunteer said yesterday.
Nisha Parti said volunteers were unable to get hold of any money, despite huge donations of cash made — a crowdfunding campaign by the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation has raised more than £200,000 alone — and Prime Minister Theresa May having pledged £5 million of emergency funds.
Ms Parti said: “We can’t get access to the money because no-one’s telling us where it is.
“People are arriving at hotels with no-one from the council to greet them, check them in, to look after them.
“Volunteers are now going to hotels with packages, with cash that they’re trying to find, because [the survivors] have nothing.”
